Our ‘Silent Sufferers’ research reveals the impact of the Government’s ‘Protect the NHS’ COVID-19 messaging on stopping people from making a GP appointment and the knock-on effect this had on their health and wellbeing.

58% of adults who avoided making a GP appointment reported a negative impact to their physical health, with the number one reason being they didn’t want to over burden the NHS (45%), whilst one third had concerns about catching COVID-19 at their GP practice. As a result, people have been left suffering in silence and are the pandemic’s ‘secondary’ casualties.
