Clinical role descriptions
What type of role are you looking for?
Our Sessional GPs bring their skills from general practice to deliver the same excellence of care out of hours, enjoying the kind of challenge and autonomy they thrive on.
They can choose the shifts they work to suit their other commitments with excellent rewards where their care has the most immediate effect.
Supported by the wider multi-disciplinary team, our GPs provide medical care that includes triage, face to face assessment at one of our Primary Care Centres or visiting immobile patients in their own home or residential/nursing care setting.
To enable home visits, our GPs are provided with a fully equipped medical car and a driver.
For an informal conversation about joining our sessional GP team, please contact our recruitment team (GP@medvivo.com or 0800 6444200).
Our Enhanced/Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ECPs/ACPs) are focused on delivering exceptional patient care as part of a wider Clinical Team, supported by remote and mobile doctors and pharmacists delivering urgent care across 24 hours.
As independent prescribers with experience in Urgent and (or) Primary Care our Enhanced/Advanced Clinical Practitioners work autonomously as part of a cohesive team. They typically perform a combination of telephone triage, face to face consultations, community ward calls and home visits - courtesy of a fully equipped medical car and driver.
All our Enhanced and Advanced Clinical Practitioners are trained to Degree level and either have obtained or are working towards a master’s level qualification as part of their professional development. This is recognised by offering bespoke training days which are run in-house with support from external Health Care specialists.
Good relations and connections with local universities provide opportunities for those wishing to undertake additional academic modules.

Working at the heart of the team to provide essential advice and guidance, our Prescribing Pharmacists are supported to work collaboratively and play a key role in providing exceptional care.
Our Pharmacists, who are all independent prescribers, are called upon to provide safe, appropriate and effective medication related services, as well as tailored advice on prescribing and therapies. They also work within their competence to assess and treat minor illness.
We rely on our Pharmacists to provide advice on best value and most effective treatments and services.
In return, Pharmacists can expect every opportunity to develop in line with our evolving services.
Our Access to Care Clinicians (including Physiotherapists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics) are the vital link between our service and partner organisations. This enables patients to be managed and transferred to health and social community settings while ensuring the best possible standards of clinical care.
Our Access to Care team takes a flexible approach to working shifts covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays, ensuring patients benefit.
Our Non-Prescribing Clinicians are an integral part of Medvivo’s Clinician Assessment Service, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
They typically come from a Practice Nurse, Paramedic or other Associated Health Professional background and provide advice to patients and health and social care professionals who access care by telephone in accordance with agreed care pathways.
From time to time, our Non-Prescribing Clinicians may also attend home visits using our fleet vehicles.
Many Non-Prescribing Clinicians take advantage of our development pathway, progressing into an Enhanced Clincal Practitioner role upon successful competion of a relevant prescribing module.
